Day One

"Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined." Henry David Thoreau

Yesterday we did it

After weeks of negotiations and years of dreaming, we signed the lease and our dream of having our own pottery studio and art gallery is becoming a reality.

Today the hard work begins. We want to start offering pottery classes as soon as possible (is mid January possible?), so first priority is getting the back area ready for classes.

Our friend is doing most of the construction work. He and Mark bought materials for the wall and some lights (so he could see what he was doing). As you can see, we're starting with a blank slate. There is one wall that will be taken down. We're going to have a wall put in about 1/3 of the way back. The front part will be the retail gallery and the back 2/3 will be a pottery school.

By the end of the day, the framing was up for the new wall and Mark and Jordan had begun taking down the back wall.

I'll take pictures as much as I can as we move through the process of getting Throwing Mud Gallery ready and operating.
