Kiln Fired Glass

A few weeks ago I was browsing around on the web trying to find local glass artists. I happened upon the website of Rose Glass Gallery.

The various styles and colors that Kathy creates with her glass were very appealing and I contacted her to see if she might be interested in having some of her glass pieces at Throwing Mud Gallery. Lucky for us she was interested and a few days ago she brought many of her pieces for us.

She uses different techniques for her pieces and they are all quite lovely. This first picture is of her "Magnolia" series of pieces, which include a 15" x 8" footed platter with the flower in bas relief. She made some small plates and sauce dishes to go with it. The yellow in the center of the flower is dichroic glass (similar to the earrings we got in earlier).

I love the vivid red in the "Rose Nocturne" series of dishes

We have more platters, small bowls and even some letter openers and wine stoppers.

Come and see!
