Don Sprague Pottery

If you asked Mark to name his favorite ceramic artists - those potters whose work he most admires, Don Sprague would be one of the first names he would mention. Don is known nationally for his well crafted functional pottery. In fact, one of his garden lanterns is on display in the Smithsonian American Art Museum and Renwick Gallery.

And we have one in our gallery....

Don Sprague’s artwork reflects his architectural studies at Washington State University. This background has strongly influenced the direction he has taken with his ceramics.

For over 30 years Don has been a ceramics instructor and taught workshops. Mark attended one of his workshops here in the Tacoma area several years ago. His pottery is part of international art collections and has won numerous awards.

We're very honored to have his pottery in our gallery. In addition to the garden lantern and teapot, we have mugs, bowls, plates, lidded jars, vases and baking dishes.
